What is a heating chiller and what are its components?
Probably the first image that comes to mind when you hear the word chiller is a cooling device that produces cold. But the chiller is not only cooling, but also heat dissipating, and is used not only for cooling, but also for heating. A chiller is generally a device that removes heat from a process or environment by circulating cold water. The work of the chiller is based on changing the phase of the refrigerant that is circulating between its components within the chiller cycle. In this way, the function of the chiller for heating and cooling processes and heating and cooling takes place on the refrigerant. Thus, it can not be said that the heating chiller is a different chiller from the cooling chiller. Chillers in different types, with mini or ordinary buildings can be used for heating. Therefore, all the characteristics of a cooling chiller include the presence of a heating chiller.
There are different types of chillers and there are different criteria for classifying them. But the three components are fixed in all chillers, including the evaporator, condenser and expansion valve. Depending on what other component enters the chiller refrigeration cycle in addition to these three components, what is its physical shape and how it works, as well as how their condenser cools, different types of chillers are made.
How does a heating chiller works?
To have a heating chiller, you need a combination set. To convert a cooling chiller to a heating one, the chiller is connected to a boiler so that the boiler is the heat source of the chiller. This chiller can either be connected directly to the chiller or it can be a boiler that is inside the engine room. In fact, the heating chiller is the same as the cooling chiller that is placed in a set along with other equipment.
So far, a heat source has been provided for the chiller and to distribute its air, it must be connected to other equipment such as a fan coil or air conditioner.
When the chiller is connected to the fan coil, since it has a separate thermostat for each room, it allows the building to provide a different and separate temperature for each of its rooms. This means that several fan coils are responsible for ventilating the units and, like a personal filter, become a means of controlling the temperature entering the unit room.
The air conditioner for the well-known chiller system and the air conditioner also act as a diffuser. Because the air conditioner itself does not produce heat and cold. In connecting the heating chiller to the air conditioner, hot water is pumped by the boiler.
